In 1961, UBank opened its doors in Huntington, Texas. Sixty-five years later, we are proud to say something few banks can: we are still family owned and operated.

That matters more than it might seem. Being family owned means the decisions made here are made by people who have a personal stake in every one of them, and whose families are part of the communities we serve. We answer to our customers, not to a distant boardroom - we measure success the way families do: over generations, not quarters.

Among the bank's early investors was my dad, Elvin "Buddy" Lowery. Born in Nacogdoches County and raised in Angelina County, he believed a bank should know its customers by name, invest in the town it calls home, and above all else, do the right thing for those around us. He passed away in 2024, but those values were instilled in me at an early age and remain at the heart of UBank today.

A lot has changed since those early days. We have grown, added expertise, and expanded beyond the town where we started - but the reason we do this work has not changed. We believe banking is built on relationships, and relationships are built on trust, time, and consistency.

To every customer, employee, and community partner who has been part of our story, thank you. Building UBank, brick by brick, and helping our community has been one of our greatest honors.

We are proud of our first 65 years, but we are even more excited about what comes next!
